Shooting
How to Limit & Avoid Danger
Store firearms safely
Keep them high and away from children, don’t let them know where it is located, and have it locked away in a tight box.
Call for help
After calling for help, wait for the police to come so that you can be safe. Don’t move until prompted to do so by law enforcement
Evacuate
In a situation where a shooting might occur, make sure that you know where the safe exists and leave the area at your best convenience. This can be done by planning an escape route
Fight
This is only the LAST RESORT of defense for yourself in the case of a shooting. You want to be able to protect yourself from the coming danger by using physical force to fight off the shooter by any means necessary.
Hide
If a shooting occurs, don’t just stay in the area. If it’s hard for you to evacuate the area, find a safe hiding spot that’s far from the person’s view, lock any doors that you’re in, call 911, and always remain calm.
